How Do I Obtain A Copy of My Military Service Records (DD 214)?

Veterans and their family can request their military service records (including DD 214/Separation Documents, Personnel Records and/or Medical Records) online, by fax or by mail through the National Archives Veterans Service Record. DD 214 is also the key to access various military benefits such as VA home loans, the GI Bill, VA health care, etc.

What Is a Veteran Identification Card (VIC) and How Do I Get One?

The Department of Veterans Affairs provides a Veterans Identification Card (VIC) for veterans to use at VA medical facilities. The VIC will be issued only to veterans who are eligible for VA medical benefits and only for the purpose of identification and check-in for VA medical appointments. The new card protects personal privacy by not showing Social Security Numbers or dates of birth on the front of the cards.
