Government agencies and non-profit agencies in Orange County (and elsewhere) are under increasing pressure. While the economic downturn has created a greater demand for services, funding is getting harder and harder to obtain.
2-1-1 Orange County is working tirelessly to replace our funding with donations from foundations, corporations and individuals. However, for those unable to give cash, there is another way to contribute: Become a volunteer.
At 2-1-1 Orange County, we welcome the help we receive from volunteers. There are a number of ways you can help:
Call Handler: Promptly answers phones, assesses callers’ needs, navigates the program database and directs callers to appropriate resources. (Training and testing is provided to for those who qualify.)
Resource Assistant: Works directly with our resource specialist to gather up-to-date information on services available in Orange County and entering that information into our computer database.
Community Ambassador: Assists with coordinating and attends outreach events and otherwise helps 2-1-1 Orange County connect to the communities we serve.
Fundraising: Helps 2-1-1- Orange County reach the individuals and organizations that can assist us financially.
If you’d like to contribute your time, talent and energy, give us a call! We appreciate the assistance.
