OCLinks' Three Year Anniversary!: On October 21st, 2016, OCLinks celebrated its third year of connecting Orange County residents with over 200 county and contracted behavioral health services. OCLinks was honored with the 2016 National Association of Counties (NACO) Achievement Award for Human Services for demonstrating outstanding innovation in a government program. Free Classes at Santa Ana College: Santa Ana College School of Continuing Education offers some wonderful FREE classes for the spring 2017 semester. Classes offered include: Vocational Classes, Computer Classes, Citizenship Classes, GED Preparation, ESL, and more! Click here for more information.
K2C Young Adult Educational Services and Training: At-risk young adults (ages 17-24) are invited to join K2C Academy to gain career and job training certifications, work experience, academic navigation, and work readiness. Young adults must reside in Young Adults must reside in Aliso Viejo, Laguna Hills, Laguna Beach, Laguna Niguel, or Laguna Woods. Click here for more information.
Orange County Head Start, Inc: Orange County Head Start, Inc. (OCHS) is currently accepting Enrollment applications for the 2016-2017 School Year. Click here for more information in English, here for more information in Spanish, and here for more information in Vietnamese.
Children’s Trust Fund Education Scholarships: Up to $2,500 per academic year (July 1st – June 30th) is offered to Orange County, CA foster youth for community college and vocational/trade school and up to $4,500 per year is offered for university and up to $300 for drivers ed training. CTF Higher Education Scholarships may be used for tuition, books, school supplies, and living expenses. Click here for more information.
Free Parenting Classes: Santiago Canyon College is offering Free Parenting Classes Tuesdays from 6-9pm in Orange. These classes cover strategies for problem solving, effective communication, positive discipline, and more. Click here for more information.
Cambodian Wellness Program: The Cambodian Family Community Center offers a variety of activities including healthy cooking demonstrations, nutrition classes, art classes, walking clubs, referrals, and more. Click here for information on how to get class schedules.
Free Clinical Breast Exams and Screening Mammograms: Join Hoag, YWCA, and Susan G. Komen on Saturday, January 28th, 2017 from 9am-12pm for a free clinical breast exam and mammogram. Click here for more information in English and Spanish.
FYSI 2017 Foster Future Leaders Conference: Join FYSI on Friday, February 24, 2017 from 8:30am – 2:30pm for a one-day conference for our former foster youth who are attending community colleges within our region. Any funds generated from this event will go to supporting scholarships to our foster youth in community college. The conference is held at Fullerton Community College. Coastline Community College Open House: Join Coastline Community College on Thursday, April 20th, 2017 from 3:00pm - 5:00pm for a presentation and open house to their community partners and foster care service providers!
