FAMILY HOUSING NAVIGATOR

MERCY HOUSE

The Family Housing Navigator provides assistance to families that are literally homeless. This assistance includes an individualized assessment of needs, followed by provision of targeted services focused on returning individuals to permanent housing as quickly as possible. The Navigator will conduct an assessment, determine eligibility, enter assessment into Central Entry System for prioritization and linkage to housing provider, help client obtain documents required for housing placement, provide individuals with employment guidance and community resources. This position reports directly to the Family Care Center Program Manager. Qualifications: Associate’s Degree or equivalent and/or at least 2 years of direct experience working with long-term homeless, low income, and diverse populations and have a working knowledge of mental health and addiction issues. Possess a high level of tolerance and understanding for individuals who present for services with urgent multiple case management and health needs. Ability to perform crisis intervention as needed; clearly communicate information and instructions verbally and in written form; maintain a positive, professional and safe environment while on duty; and establish and maintain effective working relationships with others. Valid CA driver’s license, proof of insurance and reliable vehicle is required.

OVERNIGHT LOGISTICS COORDINATOR

MERCY HOUSE

The Overnight Coordinator is a part time position that covers overnight shifts at the Family Care Center. Dependability, responsibility, and the ability to communicate effectively and respectfully are mandatory skills. The position's primary responsibilities include security and program support. This position would include overnight shifts including weekends and holidays. The Overnight Coordinator reports directly to the Family Care Center Program Manager. Qualifications: Possess a high level of tolerance and understanding for individuals who present for services with urgent multiple case management and health needs. Ability to perform crisis intervention and conflict de-escalation as needed; clearly communicate information and instructions verbally and in written form; maintain a positive, professional and safe environment while on duty; and establish and maintain effective working relationships with others. Applicants must provide a valid California Class C Driver’s License, proof of valid Vehicle Insurance, as well as an acceptable “Records Pull” from the California Department of Motor Vehicles.

HOMELESS SERVICES CASE MANAGER

THE SALVATION ARMY

Provide case-management and supportive counseling services to homeless clients enrolled in the emergency shelter and Phase II Programs and to perform other social service components as needed. The Homeless Services Case Manager (PT) will work closely with the Homeless Services Coordinator, the Hospitality House Manager, the Hospitality House staff, Social Work Student Interns and volunteers. The person will be under the supervision of the Homeless Services Coordinator and work with Director of Social Services, and the County Coordinator to contribute to the ministry of the Homeless Services Ministry of the O.C. Coordination. It is critical that the Homeless Services Case Manager fully embraces the ministry and mission of The Salvation Army and accepts its Christian principles, values, and attempts to protect and enhance the Army’s image before the general public.
